Reading Workshop 101 Grades 1-5

This three day workshop will be an in depth look at starting Reader's Workshop in your classroom.  Four days of training will include the basics of getting your workshop off the ground.  Classroom library, structure of mini-lessons, setting up independent reading and conferring will be addressed in this four day training as well as the basic work of read alouds to support instruction.  You will leave at the end of the week with plans for your first 4-5 weeks of instruction.  Registration fee includes professional text, handouts and other surprises!

Who should attend this workshop?  Those who are new to reading workshop model, 1st year teachers, those who want a refresher of the nuts and bolts of the work.

This one-day workshop will delve into raising the quality of expository writing. We will look at ways to help students generate ideas for essays, plan strong essays, as well as give you strategies to strengthen the quality of essay writing. We will look at ways to support students in supporting an idea within an essay with craft and voice.
