Using Shared Reading to Elevate Engagement & Comprehension in Intermediate Grades

June 24, 2021

Grades 2-8

$175 per person

Virtual Workshop

Shared reading is most widely recognized in K-1 classrooms.  We believe shared reading has great benefits for students in grades well beyond K-1.  We want to show you how you can use a shared reading approach in your intermediate classroom with on-level texts to engage your readers both online and in person. This daily 10 minute instruction will have great impact on your readers.  Shared reading is a great way to work with students on a daily basis with print work, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written response.  We will cover a clear and structured method of planning this component with a weekly schedule including a variety of genres.

Summer 2021:  All workshops will be virtual.

Attendees will receive:

  • log-in procedures prior to day of workshop.

  • Zoom meetings scheduled 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with scheduled breaks.
